Microsoft has been readying its direct attack (Silverlight) to Adobe Flash, promising a multiplatform player and an open programming that will challenge the Flash monopoly. But Adobe has been preparing Air (Formerly Apollo) to extend the user existing skill in Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax. So the future will be bright for developers, because this two new applications promise a new way to interact online with powerfull solutions created to fit the user’s needs.

Microsoft released its pluging for windows, mac and it is entitling Novel to release its linux version, while Adobe will be in Windows and OS X.

Microsoft will leverage here its monopoly attaching its applications to Windows, let hope this program become a real competition to Adobe Flash and Microsoft releases a version for mac, but knowing Microsoft this is something we doubt and they will merge all its developer power with it and let the mac community out.
