Can the Isight be turned on remotely?
While surfing the net late at night using just underpants I asked myself: What if somebody can turn on my Isight? Is it possible that somebody remotely turns the Isight?, Of course this is a imac and if you want to get into any imac you should have the account and password to do so. But what if somebory send you an Applescript that turns the Isight everytime you visit some pages on internet, thanks God again, this is a mac. You are secure just when you are secure and let me tell you that every time I see the Isight in front of me I feel like being watched. I hope this computer keeps acting like a mac for a while, because I don’t want to see my ugly shape in porno or fitness recommendations sites.

Well, you might cut a small piece of plastic out of one of those white plastic orange juice jugs (or other piece of white plastic) and just scotch tape it across the isight when you want to be sure no one is looking.
On the other hand, using the most simplest precautions, no one will be able to break into your Mac and take control of your iSight.
And besides that, why would you even be a target?

Just to let you know I was wondering the same. Lately my iSight (built-in/iMac) has been turning itself on, but I can’t figure out which app has been using it. I had Firefox, Safari, Mail, Soundtrack and MSN open (But MSN for Mac does not support a camera). I noticed that the little green light has been on. A few minutes ago it turned itself off and the AOL Messenger icon disappeared from my menu bar. (I never use it and I haven’t touched it). So can there be a Big Brother/Sister who can hijack my iSight?
