Just to let you know I was wondering the same. Lately my iSight (built-in/iMac) has been turning itself on, but I can't figure out which app has been using it. I had Firefox, Safari, Mail, Soundtrack and MSN open (But MSN for Mac does not support a camera). I noticed that the little green light has been on. A few minutes ago it turned itself off and the AOL Messenger icon disappeared from my menu bar. (I never use it and I haven't touched it). So can there be a Big Brother/Sister who can hijack my iSight?

Well, you might cut a small piece of plastic out of one of those white plastic orange juice jugs (or other piece of white plastic) and just scotch tape it across the isight when you want to be sure no one is looking.

On the other hand, using the most simplest precautions, no one will be able to break into your Mac and take control of your iSight.

And besides that, why would you even be a target?
