Should Microsoft Really Abandon Vista?

Strong question here, I don’t think so, but if they want to continue their dominance in the computer business, they must make REAL INNOVATION, not copy features you can find in every Mac OS X near you.
Is there space for innovation in this already crowded space? yes, BeOs did it, created from the ground up a Powerful Operating System with muuuch muuch less money than Microsoft spends in advertising in a month. Apple is innovating everyday and even Linux is creating a far more elegant graphic environment with XGL, so if Microsoft will continue to supply us the half baked Windows Vista formula for more years to come, they must buy enough Kool-Aid and give it to us for free.
The Windows Vista experience has been compared to Windows Me, nothing new to show that convince people or even XP die-hard to jump in, what is really strange here is that Microsoft wasted more than 5 years developing this beast and in the end it must be considered a failure because Vista is not adding new users, but making them jump to Linux or Mac, exactly what Microsoft wasn’t expecting.
Maybe next time Microsoft, maybe next time…

Simply put, there’s nothing that Vista offers me other than resource-sucking eye-candy & whizbangery. Why do I *need* to use a video for my desktop? Wallpapers & screensavers only really work when, well, you aren’t working. Why do I need a desktop widget of an analog clock when there’s a clock sitting unobtrusively right down there in my system tray anyway?
Vista’s enhancements are all fluff, no substance!
MS is going to have a tough time finding an end-of-lifecycle for Windows XP. It may be non-trendy & yawn-inspiring, but it is a stable product that gets the job done.
