Zune hitting the store shells zoon

Microsoft was really putting some time on the new version of its digital music player “Zune”, bringing some welcome additions to the device, wireless sync, DRM free music, new colors and video, a redesign of the Zune Marketplace and of course the new zune pad, a semi circular touchable area uses to navigate zune “their version of the clickwheel”.

But as Microsoft is not planing to take over Apple anytime zoon, this update is just a way to stop zune users to jump back to the ipod, there is nothing new here, even shouting DRM free music is old news and the new colors don’t represent anything new or appealing to the masses, let’s thing Microsoft wasn’t expecting the Ipod Touch and was caught with the pants down.

Microsoft has always said that the zune is a long-term project, but for how long? If they continue this path, updating just to stay on the market, people won’t buy their products if the features of the new devices are old features included first by others. Maybe one day their shareholders will revolt and ask Microsoft to stop burning their money.

Maybe they are just waiting for Apple to make a mistake to pitches zune for a cheaper price or trade it for an ipod, but while Apple refines the ipod and includes neat features, zune receives a makeover and maybe two or three tattoos.
