The iphone success is nothing but a tremendous engineering and marketing work, hundreds of hours, plans, adding and cutting features and more hours for testing. This is the begining of a new trends in mobile phone, it is more than just another smartphone, it is a combination of too many factors, internet, bluetooth, phone, PDA and style. But if Apple wants to attract more fans to the iphone should considers opening the platform to developers, why?

1. Developers will bring more applications faster than Apple, (thousands of them and updated applications).
2. Developers could force Apple to Innovate in a better and more productive way. If developers bring some new features to the platform, then Apple must continue adding new ones and tweaking those already installed.
3. Create some kind of Open Iphone Platform that provides the tools and some api sources to developers to use it in their applications, give them to the public, wait for the fix and then add them to the Iphone or Ipod. This way Apple guarantee thousands of new Applications for the iphone/ipod touch and their only job is to provide assistance to the Dev Community.

Open means more new features, applications, games social networking to this new platform. Maybe in the next Apple Developer Conference we see a section about Creating Hardcore Applications for the Iphone. Apple has proved that open is better, take Safari, using KDE codes Apple has created this beauty browser, so why not put some iphone codes for the public to use them?
