Of course we all would like to have the 24" display, the real problem here is the economy, our economy doesn't help us justify this price, instead of buying this monitor is more money wise to buy a refurbished 20" imac, they both have the same price and you can do MORE with the imac than with the display.

I have a 24" iMac which I dearly love after being on PCs since they were first announced, with every new model ever released since then, finally running MS Vista Ultimate, after running every PC OS ever released through that point. But now that I am learning OS X I am amazed at how superior it is to any Windows I have ever used. I think the big difference is that Steve Jobs is a perfectionist, and tries to release only the best of the best, although sometimes he is betrayed by less competent people below him, such as with the mobile-me mess, and the problems with AT&T and the iPhone. Now the new 24" monitor is again the best possible monitor, despite the price, and I would love to have it instead of my current 19" secondary monitor which while the best of it's type, is no where near as good.
