One of the fresh laptops presented by Steve Jobs earlier today was the (White) MacBook that will only cost $999, that is, if you pick the basic features like only 1GB of RAM.

It took a long time to reach this “below $1,000 MacBook” goal, but it is here and it is real:

* Prices: from $999 to $1,374 depending on the Hard-Drive and RAM memory
* Alternative Price: as low as $24 per month for the low-end model, but you must use a Juniper Visa Card
* New Stuff: White color
* Default Processor: 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

The following options are available when picking your configuration:

* 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB of DDR2 RAM Memory
* 120GB, 160GB, or 250GB Serial ATA Hard-Drive
