Mini Monster Smash smashes onto the App Store

Aurora, Colorado – Riptide Games today is pleased to announce their latest game, Mini Monster Smash 1.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. Mini Monster Smash is a free game where the goal is to smash the monster as far as you can with a flyswatter. Along the way you can bounce off of trampolines, run into bombs or float in bubbles. Mini Monster Smash is the most recent release from Riptide Games whose previous apps have been downloaded more than 2 million times.

Mini Monster Smash was originally developed overnight at the 360iDev Game Jam held in Austin, TX in November 2010. The core gameplay from that initial development sprint is largely unchanged from the final product, and Riptide tried to keep true to the Game Jam sprit and kept development as minimal as possible. The final app represents only approximately 40 hours development time.

“We love the unique constraints put on by a Game Jam and are thrilled that Mini Monster Smash was good enough to release” said Brian Robbins, Founder of Riptide Games. “Our first release Gravity Sling also came from a 360iDev Game Jam and we hope that players enjoy this one just as much.”

In addition to smashing the monster as far as possible users can post their score to Facebook, Twitter or share it via email. There are also 26 Game Center achievements to earn which provide for a an extended amount of gameplay in spite of its superficially simple appearance.

Mini Monster Smash is the latest game released by Riptide Games. Previous games include the iLookApps series which has well over 1 Million downloads and Gravity Sling, among others.
