Rubberduck launches iPhone services for NetCom

Today TeliaSonera’s Norwegian brand NetCom is launching a mobile video service specifically designed for iPhone users. The service is developed by Aspiro’s subsidiary Rubberduck Media Lab, who provides the hosting service, content sourcing and front end browser design and development. The service is an extension of NetCom’s current Mobile TV and video offering on the 3G and EDGE networks. iPhone and Gmail Bring Support for Micro-Blogging Platform

iPhone Firmware 2.2 to be released on Nov. 21

It looks like Apple is indeed pushing through with the release of iPhone firmware 2.2 and if the latest rumor is to be believed, we’ll see it go live on November 21st. Aside from the Google Maps Street View and new layout of Safari, you’ll also be able to turn off text auto-correction, download podcasts from the App Store, and use the headphone jack as a Line-in port when you upgrade to firmware 2.2. We’re not sure if this is the complete list of new features in the latest firmware for the iPhone, but unless Apple has done something to make it more jailbreak-proof (which I suppose is nearly impossible), then we’re almost certain that an iPhone 2.2 jailbreak won’t be far behind when it’s released on November 21. Ford launches Flex app for iPhone users to enhance photos

DDH Software Launches HanDBase for iPhone

DDH Software, Inc., coming on the heels of the 10th anniversary of the HanDBase mobile database application's first release, announces today the launch of HanDBase for iPhone. It is available now through iTunes in the Apple App Store. HanDBase for iPhone HanDBase has been modified to fit the unique characteristics of the iPhone platform. Finger-friendly navigation enables users to easily move between fields and records by swiping left or right on the screen. Also unique to this version is the ability to email records and integration of the popular HanDBase Gallery, an online repository of over 2,000 database designs that can be installed right from the device. The company aimed to offer a full-featured version of HanDBase that does not require their full-featured desktop component, which could not (for technical reasons) be bundled on the App Store. Internet Marketing Firm launches iPhone Web Development Service

Drinking apps crop the AppStore, legal woes and useless app in the mix

There is a brewing controversy between beers simulation applications for the iPod Touch/iPhone, iBeers' s creator Hotrix sued Coors Brewing Co. for stealing its application concept and apply it to a advertising campaign, iBeer cost $3 while iPint is free. Hotrix requested Apple to remove the iPint application from the AppStore because of the legal situation and similarities between both Apps and legal woes. But what I find interesting is who will buy these kind of application that only serve to show you how cool the iphone is. This kind of app can be run once, when played more than once it losses the joice. It is wise to say that the iPint is a totally ripoff of a useless application, Coors better solve this out of Court and helps Hotrix to make more drinking apps for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Can Blackberry or Palm gives Apple a run?

I don't think so, while RIM is reported to be gaining some marketshares away from the iPhone, it is still too soon to declare a winner, this is the second major upgrade for the iPhone while the Blackberry has suffered a dozen or more. iPhone MAME emulator MAME is strictly a non-profit project. Its main purpose is to be a reference to the inner workings of the emulated arcade machines. This is done both for educational purposes and for preservation purposes, in order to prevent many historical games from disappearing forever once the hardware they run on stops working. Of course, in order to preserve the games and demonstrate that the emulated behavior matches the original, you must also be able to actually play the games. This is considered a nice side effect, and is not MAME's primary focus. It is not our intention to infringe on any copyrights or patents on the original games. All of MAME's source code is either our own or freely available. To operate, the emulator requires images of the original ROMs, CDs, or hard disks from the arcade machines, which must be provided by the user.
