Just because Psystar and Apple recently decided to enter into arbitration instead of going to court doesn’t mean that Psystar isn’t going to try to sell as many machines as possible before the final decision comes down, no siree bob. In fact, today, Psystar decided to one-up Apple, not only releasing a new model of clone, but one that comes with a built-in, patented Blu-Ray bag of hurt plus Nvidia’s new 9800GT graphics card—beating Apple to the punch, at least for now. I’m guessing that this will give Messrs. Cooperman and Yorio lots to arbitrate.

Blu-Ray is a not for Apple right now, mac users have been waiting a long for Apple to add Blu-Ray disc to the mac the future is looking worse in this matter when today Steve Jobs was asked about the state of Blu-Ray on the mac: “Blu-ray is just a bag of hurt. It’s great to watch the movies, but the licensing of the tech is so complex, we’re waiting till things settle down and Blu-ray takes off in the marketplace.” The immediate question is: How can Asus, Dell, Toshiba, HP and others offer Blu-Ray in sub $900 laptops and Apple can’t? The right answer is unknow, but at least we can say that while Apple is protecting its online movie sales we are left behind with a format that is becoming obsolete day by day and by the time Apple decides that We can have BD on our machines, the next format will be taking over Blu-Ray and we will have to way another 3 years for mass adoption and Apple consumer research on that matter. This is the same reason the AppleTV is a toy device, Apple is fighting two wars, trying to innovate while forcing us not to have the latest technology, you can have the perfect wireless companion with the AppleTV, broadast your internet videos to your tv, but you can’t use the AppleTV as a DVR, something so basic that even a $100 USB card from Miglia can provide HD TV and DVR features to your mac. Apple this time you are late….
