Yahoo! News: Nano-fibers could power your iPod

US researchers have created a nano-fiber textile that harvests energy from movement, paving the way for clothing that could one day power an iPod or other wearable electronic devices, according to a study published Wednesday. Using the same mechanical principle as a self-winding watch, but on scale measured in billionths of a meter, tiny nano-generators can scavenge "wasted" energy from sound waves, vibrations, or even the human heart beat. The fibers, developed by a team of scientists at the Georgia Institute of Technology led by Zhong Lin Wang, are covered with pairs of zinc oxide nanowires that produce tiny pulses of electricity in response to friction. "The two fibers scrub together just like two bottle brushes with their bristles touching," converting the mechanical motion into electrical energy, explained Wang. Via Yahoo! News

Itunes Branded Clothes… a success made at internet

When I first entered the mac business (selling macs) one of the more requested things was an Apple Cap with the the big Apple logo in different colors, everybody was crazy about those Apple stuff that with had in store, Pen, Mouse Pads, Mugs, Towels, Key rings, T-shirts and the Apple branded Cap. So why there isn't a section in Itunes that provides Apple branded clothes and Collectibles, so you can enjoy giving others this kind of gifts, thanks God Apple still packs the Stickers, those that you find over the back of mac users cars. Apple is again missing a big selling oportunity without this section, there a lot of fanbois (like me) that will spend some money in black Apple T-Shirts at the Itunes Apparel Store. - whataboutmac.com
